The cool year seems to have benefited the variety, as the wine shows remarkable depth and balance. It's medium-bodied but generous, with ample flesh set against fine-grained, almost silky, tannins. Even after 18 months in French oak (hogsheads and barriques), the oak influence is muted, letting the gorgeous fruit shine on the mouthwatering finish. |
