| Description: | Mount Mary is one of Australia's iconic vineyards. Its dryland vineyard is planted to a broad array of clones of its constituent varieties, from which Middleton's team refined a selection from the finest mature vines. Its yields are modest to very low, and its wines nurtured according to the very disciplined approach of John Middleton, who now has a significantly expanded winery to work within. The latest releases incorporate a deeply flavoured and tightly structured Triolet, a seamless Chardonnay, an opulent Pinot Noir and a riper, juicier expression of the elegant Quintet. |
| Tasting Note: | Excellent hue though not particularly deep; a classic, understated Mount Mary style, beautiful fruit/oak/tannin balance; cassis and blackcurrant dominate, then silky tannins on a very long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Malbec/Petit Verdot. |
