| Description: | Lignier rents 0.40 hectares in the south-facing Monthélie premier cru Sur la Velle; in 2021 the vines produced exciting results. The colour is light, but the wine is perfumed and elegant, with raspberry aromas and nuances of earth, mineral, and a savoury edge that recalls roasting meat. The texture is similarly light, but there is a charming finesse, and the tannins are silky and not astringent. The grapes were mostly destemmed and extracted firmly during fermentation before ageing in mostly older oak casks. |
